Before Your Studio Name Goes on It, Wear It Through a Full Class

A sample can look right on a hanger and still leave an instructor adjusting the waistband. Use a real class to make the next product discussion specific.

Start with the class you actually teach

Before putting your studio’s name on activewear, wear the sample through a full class. A pose in front of a mirror is one view of a garment. A class gives you a chance to notice what needs adjusting, where seams become distracting and how the fit feels as you move.

For a first yoga or Pilates range, we would start with existing styles and a focused selection. An instructor outfit or a small member selection gives the review a clear purpose. Custom colours, branding and new development can then be discussed against the actual brief.

Ask four useful questions

Does it stay comfortable through the movements you teach? Notice the waistband, straps and seams. Record the movement and the adjustment needed, rather than writing only “comfortable” or “not comfortable.”

How does the fabric look when stretched? Review coverage in the studio’s lighting and during the intended movements. Note the colour, size and fit of the sample you checked. One observation should not become a blanket claim about every colour or size.

Does the fit work across the sizes your community needs? One sample on one wearer provides limited information. Agree which sizes and wearers should be included before approving a team or member collection.

What happens after washing? Follow the sample’s care instructions, then review shape, colour, seams and comfort again. Keep a record of the care method so any difference has context.

Give instructors a simple feedback format

For each sample, record the style and size, intended use, class type, movements checked, fit observations and any washing notes. Include photographs where they help explain a concern, with the wearer’s permission.

Ask what the instructor kept adjusting and what they would change before wearing it again. Specific observations are easier to discuss with a product partner than a single overall score.

Turn the feedback into an approval

Separate issues with fit, construction and material from optional styling preferences. Agree which changes are required, which need another sample and which can remain as supplied.

Keep the approved size information, branding placement, care instructions and sample reference together. Before placing the order, confirm available styles, sizes, quantity requirements, packaging, costs and delivery timing.
